Gwibber allows
you to post updates, read updates, reblog, retweet, send
personal messages and view public timelines – all from your
desktop! No need to open your browser!
Gwibber
also uses Jaunty’s notification system to display new messages,
so you don’t even need to have the main window open to keep
up-to-date!
Installation
You can install Gwibber directly
from Add/Remove in Ubuntu 9.04. Just search for ‘gwibber’. Or
by using "sudo apt-get install gwiber” from a terminal.

Intrepid or Hardy users, you will need to add the Gwibber PPA to your
